So, it looks like yet another beginning and this at 57 years of age!
In May 2016, I sold my online & brick 'n mortar fabric shop, (Volksfaden was and still is, it's name) thinking it was time for a change. I have not regretted this decision but after a few months, I knew it was time to start something new.
I began creating the photo collages for the Volksfaden website shortly after it was up and running. I had the idea for the collages on the website but didn't have the technical savvy to create them. A graphic designer, Ina Neubert, did the first series of collages but I eventually took over, firstly because I wanted to and secondly to cut expenses. (so much for teaching an old dog new tricks!)
Let's face it, running a small business can be very rewarding and alot of fun but there often may not be a budget for graphic design, advertising and marketing, so the buck stopped here. Collage making became one of my few consistent creative outlets. I may have given up Volksfaden but I will be sticking with the digital cut 'n paste and have even put some of them up for sale on society 6. So here I am...let's get this party started!
